The Story Behind The Work

Craft passed down. Precision built over time.

01

Family Roots

My connection to sewing machines grew from a family history in the trades. After World War II, my grandfather worked as a tailor in Uvalde, and my uncle worked in upholstery. In both trades, the machine is part of the artistry: skilled hands, good materials, and precise stitching come together to make something useful and lasting. When I apprenticed under my grandfather, I began learning that craft firsthand.

02

Hands-On Experience

I carried that appreciation for the craft into five years at a tuxedo shop and later into my own mobile alterations business. Sewing machines were at the center of the work, helping turn careful fitting and skilled alterations into a finished garment. Over time, I built more than 25 years of experience around them.

03

Engineering Precision

My career later took a turn into IT and systems engineering, where careful troubleshooting was essential. Today, I bring that methodical approach together with my hands-on connection to the sewing trades. That experience informs the service I provide for domestic, industrial, vintage, serger, and embroidery machines.

On My Own Workbench

I work on the machines I know and use myself.

My own collection spans domestic and industrial machines, sergers, blind stitch machines, and commercial embroidery equipment, plus a Singer Featherweight and vintage treadle machines passed down through my family. That range keeps me connected to the different ways people sew and the machines they rely on.

Trained For The Details

Technical knowledge, careful hands-on work.

My formal certification as a sewing machine technician brought structured, hands-on training to a craft I'd already spent decades around. My engineering background adds a methodical approach to diagnosing both the mechanical and electronic sides of a modern machine.
