Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: October 13, 2026
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of mysewingmechanic.com and services provided by My Sewing Mechanic, a sole proprietorship based in Round Rock, Texas. By submitting a service request, booking an appointment, or authorizing work, you agree to these terms.
Services Offered
Diagnostic Service $75
A Diagnostic Service includes up to one hour of troubleshooting. Minor repairs may be completed during the visit. If we cannot identify the reported issue, there is no diagnostic charge. If you approve Full Service after a diagnostic, the $75 diagnostic fee will be applied toward the Full Service price. Diagnostic visits are not covered by the 60-day labor warranty.
Full Service Tune-Up $150
A Full Service Tune-Up includes up to two hours of work: machine disassembly, cleaning, lubrication where applicable, adjustment, inspection, a test stitch-out, and installation of a new needle. It includes a 60-day limited labor warranty, described below.
If additional time or repairs are needed beyond the tune-up, we will provide a separate quote and get your approval before proceeding. Parts are not included in the listed price unless a quote specifically says otherwise.
Rush Service $75 add-on
Rush Service provides dedicated service time outside regular business hours, such as evenings or weekends, subject to availability. It does not move your machine ahead of standard customers in the queue; standard customers keep their place in line.
Rush applies only to the specific service you add it to. If you add Rush to a Diagnostic and later approve Full Service, the Rush fee covers the Diagnostic only. It does not transfer to Full Service. A separate $75 Rush add-on is required if you want the Full Service completed on a Rush basis.
Specialty and custom machines
Vintage machines, sergers, embroidery arms, and electronic or computerized machines may require individual pricing based on the make, model, and reported issue. We will provide a quote for approval before beginning quoted work.
Service requests and acceptance
Submitting a service request does not guarantee that we will accept the machine for service or place it in the service queue. We may review the machine’s make, model, condition, and reported issue before confirming acceptance and next steps.
Concierge Pickup & Delivery
Concierge Pickup & Delivery is planned but is not currently available. We will add its terms, including pricing and payment arrangements, to this document when the service launches.
Pricing & Payment
Prices are in U.S. dollars. Parts are not included in listed prices unless stated in an approved quote.
Payment is due for services actually performed. Payment is due when the service is complete and before the machine is released to you, unless we agree otherwise in writing. Charges for service already performed are non-refundable.
We will quote additional time, repairs, and specialty-machine work separately. We will not proceed with additional quoted work without your approval.
Warranty
The 60-day limited labor warranty applies only to labor performed as part of a Full Service Tune-Up. The 60-day period begins when the service is completed.
The warranty covers labor only. It does not cover parts, Diagnostic Service, new or unrelated problems, or work outside the Full Service Tune-Up. Contact us before arranging other work on a machine if you believe an issue may be covered.
Cancellations
You may cancel before service work begins at no charge. Once work has started, charges for work actually performed are non-refundable. You are responsible only for service actually performed, subject to any quote you approved.
Liability Limitation
Important — Limit on Liability for Machine Damage
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for damage to your machine while it is in our care or resulting from our service is limited to the lower of:
- The amount you paid for the service related to the claim; or
- The approximate value of the machine that you stated at intake.
We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, hidden defects, or the condition or symptoms you reported at intake, except to the extent our work causes additional damage and applicable law does not allow that limitation. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
Right to Refuse Service
We may decline to service a machine, including after reviewing it or beginning a diagnostic. If we decline service, we will charge only for diagnostic work actually performed, if any. If we cannot identify the reported issue during a Diagnostic Service, there is no diagnostic charge.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. The current version will be posted on this website with its “Last Updated” date. Updated terms apply to service requests accepted after the updated version is posted, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Governing Law
Texas law governs these Terms. Any dispute relating to these Terms or our services must be brought in a court with jurisdiction in Williamson County, Texas, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
